Infrared Miniatures @Studio St. Phillip
I'm very excite to be joining the amazing duo Missing Piece, Dan Galat and Quelly Quesada for a very special evening of chamber music. Duos and trios from very exciting composers. Im thankful for Missing Piece performing my latest piece Infrared Miniatures for violin and cello, a set of short movements inspired by the recent milestone achieved by the launch of the James Web Telescope. Hosted by LPO cellist Jeanne Joubert, this concert takes place at the stunning Studio Saint Phillip.

Happy Hour with the LPO @ New Orleans Jazz Market
One of the most loved events from the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra featuring chamber groups from the LPO. I'll be playing a number of pieces by Spanish composers including Andrea Casarrubios and Joan Lamote de Grignon. I am honored to join LPO musicians cellist Jeanne Joubert, trombonist Matt Wright and pianist Jesse Reeks in this event.

Solo Recital in benefit of Gigi's playhouse
I'm very excite to be performing this solo recital as a donation to Gigi's Playhouse, and organization that provides services and support to individuals with Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome). Thanks so much to Ryan Lefort who generously supported Gigi's playhouse and won a private recital at the Gigi's auction!

Im very excited to be joining one of the few new music ensembles in new Orleans, the Alluvium Ensemble. Alluvium is a collective of artists that provides community concerts, installation works and special events to the New Orleans area. This concert features music by cellist and composer Chris Bereos-Haigis and will take place at the iconic Always Lounge in New Orleans.

I'm very excited for this collaboration with Monica Payne and the Theater Department of Tulane University on a devised play featuring my original music. The Jane project is based on the Jane Collective, an underground group of activists advocates for safe and affordable abortions between 1969 and 1973 in Chicago.

LookOut Series @ Steppenwolf Theater
One of our more important commitments this summer is our performance at the amazing LookOut Series at Stteppenwolf Theater, a program that strives to shine the light on up-and-coming artists from Chicago. We are honored to present our program CRISOL (melting pot). CRISOL is an ongoing project fueled by the idea of cultures fusing together to propel the creation of new ways of defining and making music. From the use of ancient forms poetry to the fusion between technology and sound, CRISOL presents a melting pot of new works from Chicago composers and sound artists.

Friday June 10th Kelly Quesada and Dan Galat will premier my brand new piece "Infrared miniatures" for violin and cello.
"Infrared Miniatures" was inspired after learning the intricacies of the mind blowing technology that created the James Webb telescope. The Webb telescope differs from others by capturing the infrared spectrum of light emitted by galaxies and stars that are at record distance form our own planet.

From virtuosic folk music of Romania to the dance moves of Argentine tango, from the ancient mysteries of Spain to the electrifying energy of Chinese Opera, Sixto Franco and Shi-An Costello take you through a musical journey, traversing national borders and eras of human civilization. As a composing and improvising duo, Franco and Costello will also offer a set of original compositions, built from their rich and varied musical backgrounds.

Frequency Series @ConstellationChicago
Quijote Duo (cellist Juan Horie and violist Sixto Franco) and pianist/composer Shi-An Costello join forces for the first time to play a rich and varied contemporary music program of solos and duos, featuring newly commissioned works, and personalized repertoire by composers Augusta Read Thomas, Igor Santos, Ben Zucker, Viet Cuong, Hannah Boissoneault, Paul Wiancko, Sixto Franco, and Shi-An Costello. The evening’s performance is dedicated to Igor Santos’s new work for viola and cello, entitled available stops.
